MealBuddy ("食べとも" / "饭搭子") is operated by Hanlian ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name (if provided) and a unique identifier. We do not receive or store your password.
- Profile Information: Nickname and avatar photo you choose to set.
- Content: Restaurants you save, comments, photos you upload, and messages you send in group chats.
- Device Information: Device token for push notifications (only if you grant permission).
- Location: Approximate city-level location (only when you grant permission) to suggest nearby restaurants.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app's features (groups, restaurant sharing, chat).
- To send push notifications about group activity and messages.
- To detect your city for restaurant recommendations.
- To display your nickname and avatar in group contexts.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data is only visible to:
- Other members within your groups (nickname, avatar, saved restaurants, messages).
- Restaurant comments are displayed with masked nicknames to other users.
4. Third-Party Services
- Apple Sign In / Google Sign In: For authentication only.
- Google Places API: To search and retrieve restaurant information.
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): To deliver push notifications.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. Uploaded images are compressed and stored in WebP format. We use HTTPS for all communications and JWT tokens for authentication.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your comments, leave groups, and remove saved restaurants at any time within the app. If you wish to delete your account entirely, please contact us at the email below.
7. Children's Privacy
MealBuddy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
